Lifetime structural warranty
Every Harvey & Mueller ring is covered, for the lifetime of the original owner, against:
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
- Stone-setting failures (a stone falling out from a faulty setting)
- Hallmarking inaccuracy
- Stress fractures in the band or shoulders from a manufacturing weakness
If any of these occur, we repair the ring at no charge, including return shipping, both ways, fully insured.
Five-year manufacturer warranty
In addition to the lifetime structural cover, every ring has a five-year warranty under Australian Consumer Law, covering any defect not caused by normal wear. We’ll repair, replace, or refund — your choice — within five years of original delivery.
What we don’t cover
- Accidental damage. A dropped stone after impact, a deeply scratched band, a prong bent from a knock — these are covered by your insurance valuation, not by us. We do offer heavily discounted repairs for these (often 30–50% of trade), case by case.
- Loss or theft. Covered by your home contents or jewellery-specific insurance. We provide a valuation to support any claim.
- Normal wear-and-tear polishing. Covered by our free lifetime servicing — separate from the warranty.
- Modifications by another jeweller. If someone else has worked on the ring, we may not be able to honour the warranty on the affected component. Always check with us first — most jobs we can do for free.
To make a warranty claim, email us with a clear photo and a short note. We’ll send a prepaid insured satchel, inspect on arrival, and confirm the path forward within three business days.
Insurance valuation
Every ring is delivered with an insurance valuation valid for 12 months. We refresh it annually for the first five years at no charge — beyond that, $80 per valuation. We strongly recommend separate jewellery insurance for every ring above $2,000; it’s usually under $100 a year and covers what we don’t.
